Titleist Vokey Spin Milled SM9 Tour Chrome

Even if you don't know who Bob Vokey is, you've definitely heard of Vokey Spin Milled wedges. Vokey's designs have not changed over the years and the classic look still shines in this day and age. Contact with the golf ball creates a lower pitch snap sound and feels relatively similar to the SM8. Although not much different to the SM8, a new cutting process was introduced on the SM9 which maximizes the spin and creates more durability by cutting grooves based on the loft of each club. The center of gravity was also raised to help with forgiveness and lower ball flight. The SM9 is recommended for golfers looking for better control and more forgiveness than what's currently in their bag.

Titleist Vokey Spin Milled SM8 Tour Chrome
The SM8 is great for approach into the greens from the fairway and also a good choice for pitch shots, bunkers, and shots around the greens. It is very similar to it's bigger brother, the SM9 but more affordable. Like the SM9, the launch is high, spin is hard to beat, and the classic look is always pleasing to look at. Best for golfers looking to gain confidence through consistent performance and those struggling with bunker shots.

Cleveland RTX Zipcore Tour Satin
A wedge designed for lower handicappers. It has a muscle back design and offers a soft feel with CG being positioned away from the hosel. The core is four times lower density than the steel head it lies within, which frees up 10-15g of weight. This also boosts high-low MOI for more stability and low strikes on the face, providing a bigger sweet spot. Best for golfers who want a straighter leading edge.

Titleist Vokey Spin Milled SM7 Tour Chrome
The SM7 further refined the SM6 with lower lofts concentrating weight more in the sole and higher lofts moving it upwards towards the toe in order to position the CG behind the impact point. It provides excellent control, distance, and consistent performance. Just like the SM models ranked higher, the design is timeless. Great for all types of short games. Checks incredibly quick on high and low running spin shots.

Callaway MD5 JAWS Chrome
Compared to the MD4, the MD5 is not as reflective and new grooves have been added to increase spin on chip and pitch shots. The overall shape when compared to the MD4 has not changed so shape and feel will feel familiar. Thanks to the increased spin control and controlled trajectory, they are great to use around the green. However, the MD5 is not as forgiving when a shot is hit far off the toe. Great for golfers who are familiar with the MD4 and looking for a soft feel, high level of spin, and a wide variety of loft and sole grind options.

Top rated Wedge
As mentioned, the Vokey Spin Milled wedges are top of the line and considered the best in the industry. The SM9 contains more grooves than a conventional wedge which leads to more consistent and higher spin, particularly from grassy lies and wet conditions. The SM9 seems to be a favorite among the golfing community with many customers stating that they will be keeping them in their bag until they wear out. Taking the #1 spot in our wedge category, you can't go wrong with the SM9 in your bag.

The ZX5 MK2 offers plenty of precision and a progressive groove design with wider grooves (3-7) and deeper grooves on the scoring irons (8-AW). With deeper grooves, golfers are able to hit more consistently thanks to the effectiveness of getting rid of dirt and debris. Great for golfers looking for distance, feel, and forgiveness, while looking great.

DUNLOP SRIXON ZX5 MK2

DUNLOP SRIXON ZX5

For irons 3-7, a tungsten insert was placed in the toe to boost MOI, while the face grooves are deeper and narrower for the 8-AW. This would be great for golfers looking for distance and forgiveness.

XXIO 2020

XXIO 2020

Top rated Iron Set
Dunlop has dominated this ranking (XXIO and SRIXON), but the MK2 stands above the rest. The consistent performance off the club face and respectable distance are great reasons to add them into your bag. It feels extremely responsive and gives immediate feedback. It is the perfect bridge between performance characteristics of game improvement and player irons. The MK2 offers top of the line performance and deserves the top spot in our iron set rankings.

Putter Ranking:

1. Scotty Cameron Special Select Newport 2 (same rank compared to the previous year)
2. TaylorMade Spider GT Black TM2 (ranked up compared to the previous year)
3. TaylorMade TP Collection Hydro Blast JUNO TB1 (ranked up compared to the previous year)

Scotty Cameron Special Select Newport 2
A big name when it comes to Putters, is Scotty Cameron. The Special Select Newport 2 has a timeless design that has a great weight and feel. Putting strokes are more consistent thanks to it's feel and playability. The feel of the ball coming off the face has the right amount of bounce and the weight is just right. The putting lines marked in the center of the clubface aid in lining up the ball. Great for golfers looking for a premium feel putter, however, it is not as forgiving.

TaylorMade Spider GT Black TM2

TaylorMade TP Collection Hydro Blast JUNO TB1
The "Hydroblast manufacturing method", created a clean appearance, traditional shape, and comfortable hitting sensation while providing luxurious feel. This method uses high pressure water to finish the surface which achieves durability and smooth gloss. The new hosel design enhances ball straightness by reducing face twisting during mis-hits. The face insert is made of composite material which provides a soft hitting sensation while still feeling the ball. Best for golfers who want to capture the ball on shaft's extension line.

TaylorMade TP Collection Hydro Blast JUNO TB1

TaylorMade TP Collection Hydro Blast JUNO TB1.5
Just like the TB1, the same manufacturing process was used to create the clean traditional shape with comfortable and luxurious feel. It features a less open/closed face than the TB1 and the heel hosel creates confidence when putting. By shaving weight from the center of the hosel and distributing the weight, the stability of the putter face at impact has been enhanced. An upgrade from the TB1 but with a higher cost.

TaylorMade TP Collection Hydro Blast JUNO TB1.5

TaylorMade Spider GT Black TM1
The younger brother to the TM2 and as you can see, the design does not differ. Just like the TM2, the putter's weight has been pushed to the perimeter for extreme stability on off-center strikes. The face inserts crafted from TPU urethane material product consistent roll. Great for golfers who want the TM2 but at a more affordable price.

TaylorMade Spider GT Black TM1

Top rated Putter:
The classic look and timeless design of a Scotty Cameron putter are still relevant in this day and age. Although there isn't much technology implemented into the Special Select Newport 2, the premium feel and weight of the putter feels balanced and performs well. While there are many options available, many turn to Scotty Cameron as a functional and premium collector's item that looks good in the bag. As the #1 ranked putter for this quarter, you can't go wrong with the performance and looks the Special Select Newport 2 bring.

Conclusion
